Las Cavernitas Waterfalls is located in Río Claro de Golfito, in southern Costa Rica very close to the Panama border and the Golfo Dulce. The land has an area of 30 hectares (74.13 acres), mostly covered with forest and crossed by the River Rio Claro and another secondary river of possible volcanic origin by the formation from the stones and small caverns, which gives the origin a total of 25 waterfalls and natural pools.
There are 2 established hiking trails, the first is approximately 1 km in length, bordering the shore of the river/ falls and the 2nd trail which is just over 2 km and it is immersed in the mountain. This place has a Tourist Declaration with the Costa Rican Tourism Institute (ICT) which is the government tourism department in the country, which strengthens its tourism potential.
Currently this beautiful property receives mostly national tourists who enjoy spending a family day after paying the entrance fee. However, this is the ideal place for an eco-lodge project with rustic cabins in nature contact, a possible restaurant, recreation areas, outdoor activities, sighting of flora and fauna species within the property and activities of adventure, taking advantage of the geography of the area and the beauties of the waterfalls. Here the possibilities are many.
